On September 23, 2017 Morgantown hosted its annual marathon to benefit Operation Welcome Home. “Marathon Weekend” consists of three days of race related activities.

Sept. 21- Volunteer Kick-Off Event

Sept. 22- Marathon Expo

Sept. 23- Race Day

I had the privilege of working with the organizations volunteer coordinator to assist in organizing and recruiting nearly 100 volunteers by creating the “join the fun to help us run” campaign. I coordinated the creation and use of a flyer to be hung around the community. I also implemented a MailChimp newsletter to engage previous volunteers and keep new recruits informed.

For the 2018 event I was able to increase our recruitment and engagement as the head coordinator, engaging over 160 local students and community members. This partnership will continue for the 2019 event and I will be taking on an assistant to shadow me for a continued partnership between the Morgantown CVB and WVU after my graduation.
